Episode 055: Pitching a Collaboration

This couple was really cool, and they have an interesting story. However, midway through, I attempted to pitch an idea for a collaborative interview with the theatre company owner, and it just didn't work out. This is probably one of my least favorite videos because I feel I was too eager to get more out of it than was realistic. The challenge with developing this channel is getting others to see the potential I see in this type of entertainment, and not quite achieving that. My aim is to interview artists, entertainers, and business people local to AZ and showcase their ideas. I almost dislike how hard it is to convey what I'm trying to do, but I find it's important to accept what feels like failure and acknowledge that I tried something that didn't work without having a catalog of examples. I hope the examples will improve without needing to explain the concept behind what I'm trying to achieve. If I fail, I'll know what doesn't work, and if I succeed, I'll know what does. But if I remain stagnant and don't make any progress, I'm just sitting on an idea without advancing my goal. This episode will linger in my mind, but hopefully, it will also serve as a lesson in persistence towards my goal of reaching 500 episodes before deciding to stop or before it takes me in a direction that I feel will make an impact. I question how I can more effectively find people who want to have an authentic conversation without the fear that my stumbling through it will affect their brand as well. Should I fail forward or scrap everything and start over?
